Dead Air
The Schooner hotel in Alnmouth sits close to the Northumberland coast and enjoys some spectacular views - but over the centuries, this former coachig inn was also a hiding spot for local smugglers, that would hide smuggled goods in its cellar via an underground tunnel that ran all the way to the beach. This hotel gained its name as being "The Most haunted hotel" after claiming over 3,000 paranormal reports, prompting UKTV's Most Haunted to investigate. I was given exclusive access to this historic building, and I sleep in its notorious Room 28, where the De-Vere family were murdered. Even as recently as the summer of 2020, there have been strange occurances in this room, as well as hundreds of reports of footsteps, sightings of children and people checking out early because something has spooked them. I will also be looking for the ghost of a maid who is often seen walking the corridors of the first floor, a soldier seen on the second floor, and the ghost of Parson Smyth in the cellar where he died in an accident there.
