The Paranormal Detectives
On the 18th February 1969, Raymond Leslie Morris was jailed for life after being convicted of abducting and murdering 7-year old Christine Darby. Alongside her were two other murders of two younger girls, Margarete Reynolds, and Diane Tift, all of which were found at Cannock Chase. From the 1980's reports started to circulate that people had become witness to strange sightings of black eyed children in Cannock Chase. The stories and sightings still occur to this day. Many stories of these black eyed children usually state that they are of a young girl, with her eyes as black as coal. Dog walkers and people passing by have all succumbed to bumping into the black eyed girl. Usually she has her eyed covered with her hands, before slowly dropping them and revealing her terrifying eyes to the witness. She will often cry and run away, trying to lure you to follow her. . . potentially leading you into danger. Not only is Cannock Chase home to stories of black eyed children, but also home to MANY other paranormal stories. Cryptozoologists would find this location extremely interesting with reports of very strange creatures who have been spotted here. From sightings of bigfoot, to large snakes, big cats, big dogs and the local legend of Cannock - the pigman, amongst many others! There have also been wide reports of many UFO sightings at the chase, some even claiming missing time and potential abduction. Tonight we explore one of the most haunted forests in England, and we also split our investigation in half, exploring both the Birches Valley and Castle Ring areas alone!
