Twin Paranormal
Chef Erin O’Donnell: First off, we call him Toby, no particular reason, we just felt he was a Toby. In the four and a half years that I’ve worked here there have been many unexplained phenomenons. It’s mostly on the opening shift at 6:30am. We hear whistling, the feeling of someone standing right over your shoulder, and the radio will suddenly turn on when you just think of turning it on. Table 12 (the very back table across from the kitchen) seems to be the center of activity: you feel uneasy, sometimes like you are on a boat, and the light bulb can be found unscrewed on most mornings. We hear the door alarm chime, when no doors have been opened. One morning, I witnessed the toilet paper rolls in the bathroom spinning super fast and there was no wind or explanation why! I was so scared, I turned and ran out the back door till one of the kitchen guys arrived (which all of us openers have done before). On another particularly busy day, table 7 had just left, and it was the only open table, and a pot of cheese sauce went flying across the entire restaurant to splatter on the opposite wall. If the table had been occupied it would have been a catastrophe. Another oddity is the smell of cigarette smoke. We’ve had guests ask us where the cigarette smell is coming from and could we ask the person to put it out, and we can’t find anyone smoking anywhere around the building.
